The reports are unconfirmed, but are coming from extremely reliable sources, including Adam Pope, a man with his finger on the pulse of United.

    • Does this make me a legend then, Mick? Can I quote you? 😉 Seriously, the main thing right now is NO administration and NO points deduction – we can get this bloody awful season over with and start thinking about a brighter future. This guy has not come here to fail.

This guy is a real maverick but that’s Leeds through and through….a bit rough, unconventional and anti establishment. Some things are just meant to be.

  10. Nearly cried…blame it Sahara dust…! Or for a change we’ve had a sliver of good news…simply could not believe Jeff Stelling. Football League moaning about it, of course..
bound to have the winner of the National now. And a decent performance by the boys too…
The relief is enormous. Keep up the good work, Rob. Rely on you more than anyone else for a measured comment.

    Two credible sources-

But Cellino has won his appeal after QC Tim Kerr ruled that the 57-year-old should not have been prevented in taking over the club at Elland Road, and Cellino is now clear to complete his takeover.
“I am very, very happy. This is justice, finally. I will come to England on Monday and get to work straight away,” Cellino told The Sun.
A spokesman from the Football League said: “We are disappointed at the outcome of the appeal hearing, however we would like to thank the independent QC for his diligence in reviewing this decision.
“This was never about individual personalities, but instead was a matter in which we were obliged to uphold the integrity of our regulations having considered the issue in detail with our advisors.”

Have you ever heard such hypocrisy? “The integrity of our regulations.”

The FL and their advisors surely need to be looked into to see if they are fit for purpose. We know who you are.

  15. FL say they now will consider the finding by the QC, do they have any legal standing not to approve it now?

“This was never about individual personalities, but instead was a matter in which we were obliged to uphold the integrity of our regulations having considered the issue in detail with our advisors.

“It was always an extremely complex matter in which a different interpretation of a judgment made under Italian law could lead to an entirely different outcome in the context of our regulations. Ultimately this has proven to be the case.

“The independent QC has concluded that Mr Cellino’s recent conviction in the Sardinian Court did not involve conduct that would ‘reasonably be considered to be dishonest’ based on information available to him at the current time.

“The Football League will now consider the findings of the hearing.”
